We stayed here on Friday of the 4th of July weekend. Maggie May, the resident golden retriever, greeted us. Our accommodations were very clean, well-kept, & comfortable. The furnishings look like the way I remember my grandmother’s house 45 years ago. Quaint and “homey”, but not shabby. Our bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet. The best part was enjoying a delicious breakfast on the outdoor patio surrounded by songbirds, blooming rhododendron, green ferns, and many summer flowers. This place is pet-friendly so we also had our dog with us on the outdoor patio, which I really appreciated. The host/managers were warm, friendly, & helpful. Overall, it was an extremely enjoyable, reasonably-priced stay before we resumed our drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway in beautiful North Carolina. Yes, we would definitely stay here again!
Comfortable, Inexpensive and Homey
This past weekend was our third stay. The location is great-just off the Blue Ridge Parkway near Linville Falls and other beautiful places. If you want fancy, go somewhere else. This place is less expensive than other motels in the area. It’s a Mom&Pop, no-frills kind of place but it’s clean and comfortable. The owners are friendly and very hospitable. We will be back again when we need a getaway and don’t want to spend a lot.

Great For Bicyclists
We were a group of 8 bicyclists traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway, and wound up in Linville Falls one night at the Parkview Lodge. Convenient to the parkway, the hotel has been there a while – but the coolest thing is that Cindy offered to cook us dinner – saying “we know how to cook for bicyclists”. And, that was very true – had a wonderful dinner of salad, lasagna, bread, and pie, with all but the pie homemade, and heirloom tomatoes in the salad. Before dinner, I enjoyed their pool – a welcome break from the heat of riding. They have beer and wine, and also fixed us a complimentary breakfast with quiche and french toast casserole – and did it early, so we could resume our ride. Sure, the place is older – but the beds were comfortable, and the hospitality was excellent.

In a Jam
When a 3-day loop hike in Linville Gorge left one of our party in pain, we realized we couldn’t continue and had to cut our trip short. We hitched a ride from Table Rock into Linville Falls and stayed with David and Cindy at Parkview Lodge. They took great care of us and even made sure we had a ride back to our car 44 miles away!
Through it all they remained extremely gracious and great hosts. The lodge is simple, but embodies the hospitality and good nature of the region. They maintain a great selection of wines and beers and the quiet family atmosphere that enhances any trip to this beautiful part of North Carolina.

Great Place To Stay
My husband and I have been going to Parkview Lodge for years! We love the place! Cindy and David are the best. The motel is old but that is part of the charm of it! If you want a Days Inn, go to Days Inn. We always feel like family on each visit! I highly recommend this place! It is very unique and CLEAN!!!!

Clean and Friendly
It’s right off the Parkway and easy to find. The room price + dog add on was what the web page advertised. No surprises. The room was very clean and had a warm homey feel. There is a mountain charm there. The owners were very helpful with directions to attractions and local restaurants. Dave, the owner, took time to tell us the best viewing for Brown Mountain. We did see the Brown Mountain lights! Thanks Dave! You did us right! We plan to make another trip up and will stay here again.

Rare Find: Cabin in the Woods
My husband and I stumbled on this two bedroom cabin. Two patios. I enjoyed drinking my wine looking out at the rhododendrons. The decor is early American Pine and I only hope people look after it. It is very tastefully done.
The beds and pillows were super comfortable. Just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, we could leave the windows open. TV gets all channels. In the woods, yet we walked to town very quickly to the restaurant with homecooking. Then across to the other restaurant for dessert. Best of all was the hot tub for my husband and me.

A Wonderful Stay
I have been coming to Parkview Lodge since 1995. I missed only five years but that means I’ve been here sixteen times over the past 21 vacations. Why do I return? Is it the proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway? Is it the proximity to Wiseman’s View to hunt for the Brown Mountain Lights? Well, in part, yes. But I could still stay anywhere nearby. Yet, I continue to return to the Parkview. Dave and Cindy Peters have a nice place to stay and they are two of the most welcoming people you’ll ever meet.
